The time it takes to develop new products continues to shrink in today's highly competitive and technologically advanced global market. Success depends on making new, quality products available to your customers faster and more competitively than the competition.

Jackson 3D can provide the expertise and technology needed to shorten your development time. We can also deliver a product which is consistently accurate and in accordance with your precise specification.

Jackson 3D
utilises a large 5-axis CNC machine to turn your complex designs into 3 dimensional models which can be then used for all fibreglass tooling applications.

The state-of-the-art equipment can machine shapes within an envelope of up to 1.0 x 1.5 x 3.0 metres as a single object. Projects larger than this envelope size can be broken into smaller units and later assembled to produce larger structures.

FAST
The Jackson CNC centre can provide rapid turn round times for your tooling requirements because of our commitment to customer service and the advanced technology we employ. The simultaneous 5-axis head movement of our CNC machine equals the fastest machining in the world today. Typical tank-testing models can be machined in 8 hours. Not only are machine times cut to a minimum, the time spent hand-finishing a product has also been reduced. The detail and accuracy delivered by the 5-axis technology means only light sanding is needed.

ACCURATE
Tolerances of less than 0.4 mm are consistently achieved. Product surfaces also can be easily mirrored from left to right producing perfect symmetry with the same level of accuracy.

MATERIALS
A wide range of materials can be machined including MDF, plywood, hardwood, glass-reinforced plastic, aluminium, polystyrene and urethane foams.

REVERSE ENGINEERING
Using a surface probe attached to the 5-axis machine head, existing surfaces and parts can be easily scanned and the surface co-ordinates collected and stored. This information can then be used to machine an identical component. The data can also be imported into 3D design packages such as Solidworks, Mastercam or Maxsurf to enable surface modifications to be
made. A refined product incorporating these
changes can then be produced.

DESIGN FORMAT
Our CNC office works in a Mastercam and Solidworks environment. We can also import files prepared in other environments, such as Maxsurf, if these files are saved in an IGES or DXF format. The 5-axis machine can cut from all angles to produce a smooth finish,

COST-EFFECTIVE
The extraordinary flexibility of our system helps designers to develop and refine their concepts into highly advanced working prototypes within a matter of hours, not months. In some cases, the project cost - including the production of a second prototype based on improvements from testing and development of the initial model - can cost no more than producing a single model under a manual system.

JACKSON CNC
Photo-realistic rendering and dynamic rotation allows viewing of the final product from all possible angles.

JACKSON CUSTOMERS CAN:

  • Easily detect design flaws and change details
  • Use colour image print-outs for review or for promotional purposes
well before the final product can be photographed
  • Consider making a direct mould for prototypes
  • Also use direct moulds for permanent patterns

JACKSON'S SKILLED CNC ENGINEERS CAN:

    • Spot imperfections
    • Build in shrink factors, draft angles and warpage allowances
    • Provide parting lines for optimum mould or part release
All this can be done, starting with your hand sketches or compatible
computer data in a suitable format.
